. inspiration .

. last night i photographed a brilliant hair fashion show at my salon The Barber Lounge and soaked up a lot of inspiration! the show was created by a fellow assistant stylist Artina Morton and she showcased some lovely hair styles. i will be required to do the same thing in the future when i am transitioning from an assistant into a full time stylist in the salon. check out all her models in my flickr gallery

. here we go again! i feel blessed to work at the barber lounge. it has such a positive atmosphere and i am surrounded by a group of brilliant minds who all share the same passion as me. every day i'm learning and evolving my stylist skills while also contributing pieces of my 2D artwork to be displayed in their art shows. come check out our lovely space and the collection of artwork on september 17th 2011.

. monster cable shoot with sex+design .

. a few weeks ago i was hired to do hair styling for a unique advertising shoot showcasing the monster cable headphone collection. sex+design magazine was producing the shoot and i had such a lovely day spending time with all the creative minds involved. Randomly they asked me to be a model which was a fun addition to the day. check out the website: MONSTER CABLE

.as time speeds by.

.wow! i can't believe almost four months has gone by since i have posted here. it's amazing how you can lose track of time when life is keeping you on your toes every day. life keeps progressing and i wish i could find more time to document my journey.

.thinking back...here are some of the highlights...

.peter and i got married! just a little ceremony at city hall in san francisco with my sisters, peters brother, and our dog herbert. we hope to have a family gathering later when peters mom is able to return from the Philippines.

.i passed my cosmetology state board exam and started the stylist assistant program at the barber lounge! i feel blessed to be a part of this salon crew. we won best salon in san francisco for 2011 in the sf weekly magazine annual poll and the owner greg griffin won best hairstylist for 2011 in the sf guardians "best of the bay" annual poll. it feels great going to work every day because i am doing what i love and learning from so many brilliant hair stylists! the education team gave me the title of "head assistant" because of my dedication leadership skills. i am in charge of training and supervising all the other assistants so we can develop a solid, consistent team.

.life begins in your dreams. and it can change in the blink of an eye. i'm gonna keep on dreaming because it has brought me a long way, and there is so much more to go. i love life.

...final SFIEC photoshoot...

.this is the last project i created at school! it marked my departure from SFIEC, the coolest cosmetology school in san francisco! my girl star symmetric was a lovely canvas to play with. and of course i polished the original photos with some custom graphics to impose these images as a unique series of hairstyling and makeup artistry that was envisioned solely by me and projected to the world. i have finally graduated from the 1600 hour cosmetology program and i'm preparing for my california state board exam on may 3rd that will make or break me in the salon industry. wish me luck on becoming a licensed cosmetologist that will be prepared to stimulate the days of every client that sits in my chair and have them walking out of the Barber Lounge feeling relaxed and confident that their hair looks like a million dollar sculpture walking down the streets of san francisco!

2011 is going to radiate some brilliant energy :) i truly feel that i'm on the right path for success and happiness. thanks to all my close companions that have been along for the ride...check out my collection of hair and makeup artistry here---->KNK!
